Useful tips for your battery

When should I change my battery?

- It is recommended by the manufacturer to replace a battery after it reaches a specific number of load cycles (1 load cycle = one 100% charge). It is believed the battery life will be noticeably worse after the battery reaches 500 load cycles.

- You will see a difference in your batteries life by the time it reaches around 300 cycles but it is usually still okay to use.

- If the battery isn't charged correctly, it may have less than 500 load cycles but you will see it's capacity is less than 80%, this means it is either faulty or has been charged with non-original chargers resulting in poor battery health.

- Using original chargers is recommended to keep the power flow at the correct voltage.

"When power is pulled from a battery with a higher level of impedance, the battery’s voltage will drop to a greater degree. Electronic components require a minimum voltage to properly operate. This includes the device’s internal storage, power circuits, and the battery itself. The power management system determines the capability of the battery to supply this power, and manages the loads in order to maintain operations. When the operations can no longer be supported with the full capabilities of the power management system, the system will perform a shutdown to preserve these electronic components. While this shutdown is intentional from the device perspective, it may be unexpected by the user." from: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/ht208387
